AFSA Congratulates the Men and Women of AFSOC

General Norton A. Schwartz, retired Air Force Chief of Staff was awarded the AFSOC Order of the Sword in an emotional formal ceremony at Hurlburt Field on Friday night in front of 650 AFSOC enlisted members and guests; 300 were junior airmen. He and Mrs Susie Schwartz spent numerous assignments in the special operations arena during his 40 year AF career. General Schwartz, the 8th AFSOC recipient of the AFSOC Sword, expressed “profound gratitude to enlisted men and women like ….” and he cited numerous enlisted by name during his career. He went on to state”the admirable work by airmen of all ranks in the past is the jewel the Air Force enjoys today”. CMSAF #9 Jim Binnicker and AFSOC Command Chief Bill Turner also cited numerous specific achievements affecting enlisted folks by General Schwartz.
